Contract Clause Review Template Prompt
Review a contract clause by clause and surface what deserves a second look: unbalanced obligations, missing protections, ambiguous wording and terms that silently favour the other side. Built for people who read contracts often and cannot afford to miss a detail.
How to Use the Prompt:
- The clause or contract to review: paste the text you want examined. It can be a single clause, a section, or an entire agreement.
- Your position: state whether you are the supplier, the customer, the licensor or the licensee. The same clause reads differently depending on which side you sit.
- Your risk tolerance: say whether you want a strict review that flags everything, or only the terms that are materially unusual.
Benefits of Using this Prompt:
- Nothing is skipped: every clause gets the same attention, including the ones at the end of a long document where focus usually drops.
- Asymmetries become visible: obligations that bind one party and not the other are easy to miss when reading in sequence.
- Faster first pass: the review starts from a structured list of findings instead of a blank page.
- Consistent standards: the same criteria are applied to every contract, regardless of who reviews it or when.
- A record of what was checked: the output doubles as evidence of the review for whoever asks later.
A prompt reviews one contract at a time, and only the text you paste into it. Reviewing an entire archive, applying your own standards consistently and keeping the documents inside your infrastructure is a different problem.
