Playbook Compliance Check Template Prompt
Most organisations have a playbook: the clauses they always want, the ones they never accept, and the fallback positions in between. This prompt checks a contract against those rules and reports, rule by rule, what is met, what is breached and what is missing altogether.
How to Use the Prompt:
- Your playbook: list your rules in plain language — the positions you require, those you can concede, and those you refuse.
- The contract to check: paste the agreement you received.
- The level of detail: ask for a rule-by-rule verdict, or only the deviations that need a negotiation.
Benefits of Using this Prompt:
- Deviations surface immediately: instead of reading the contract and remembering the playbook, you get the comparison already made.
- The same standard for everyone: a junior and a senior reviewer apply identical rules to identical contracts.
- Negotiation becomes concrete: the output is a list of specific asks, not a general impression that the terms are unfavourable.
- The playbook stays alive: rules that are constantly breached tell you something about the market, or about the playbook itself.
- Faster escalation: only the real deviations reach whoever has authority to accept them.
Doing this by hand means holding two documents in your head at once, for every contract that arrives. It works for a few agreements a month. It stops working when contracts arrive daily and the playbook has forty rules.
